KINDNESS | Emerald Maple

Emerald Maple Photography was lucky enough to get a family shoot with my sister in law and her kids on the beach. The pictures captured their wild and free personalities, even in the chaos of them enjoying a day on the beach. After expressing my admiration of the pictures, my sister in law booked my husband and I a newborn shoot. I ended up delivering 4 weeks early, and Jackie adjusted her schedule to make sure we could shoot the “brand new” stage of our son’s life. Prior to our shoot, we received a survey so she could learn about our vision for the shoot, but more importantly, about us as individuals. We were also provided with fall-like color palettes to make coordinating our outfits less stressful. When she arrived the day of the shoot, Jackie used the information we gave her to strike up conversation and immediately make us and our 9 year old feel like friends more than clients. Within the walls of our own home, she captured the love of our now complete family—from husband and wife who just made it they a traumatic birth together, to a 9 year old obsessed with his baby brother he’d waited so long for. The pictures subtly but perfectly included sentimental pieces to honor my grandfather who had recently passed. When Jackie left, our son, who is normally
anxious with staged photos, asked when we could take more pictures with her. Emerald Maple Photography has gained a lifelong client in us, and we are grateful for the experience to have shot with her. Thank you a million times over for the memories and photos we will cherish forever.

We had the most wonderful session with Jackie. She made everyone feel at ease, comfortable and natural. Prepared with music, smiles and a dynamite personality- my kids took to her right away. She perfectly captured one of the most treasured places with my most favorite people . I had originally booked a beach session with Jackie, but life threw me a curve ball. We were putting our house up for sale that we had lived in going on 11 years, I knew that’s what I wanted documented. I wanted a piece of that home to take with me. I am so grateful for these photos. Each and everyone one is special to me. Thank you so much Jackie for these beautiful frozen moments in time !!! Also- if anyone hates dressing themselves as much as me- definitely do the styling- it was wonderful to not have to stress about dressing myself and my family. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to document the next special occasion with her!!!

I saw Jackie's work from a mutual friend and knew immediately I wanted her to photograph my family. From the moment I booked our session, to me being in meltdown mode the week prior because of outfits (If you're on the fence about styling, just do it, you will not regret it!) to the day of our session, Jackie was nothing short of professional, kind, patient, and genuine. She had outfits picked out for my family in one day and took so much stress off my plate. The day of our session, she allowed my kids to just be who they are and not force them to sit and pose. Everything she captured were real, raw moments that we now can keep for a lifetime. She made the entire shoot look effortless. I feel like I can't say enough good things about her. She is so incredibly talented and I know I have found my family's forever photographer... and also a new friend.

Where to begin…first of all, Jackie is a dream to work with. She’s friendly and personable, just easy to be around, which made us feel super comfortable during our pictures. It felt like we’ve known her forever! She was incredibly patient with our less than cooperative newborn, which made us feel relaxed throughout the session. Her creative vision made for some unique photos and captured memories that we will cherish forever. We loved that she focused on the natural emotion of the moment. We are so happy we booked the session and look forward to more in the future!
